St Michael's is a community primary school for 3 to 11 year olds, situated on the southern edge of Colchester. The school was established in 1971 to serve the Montgomery Garrison Estate and their families. Since its opening our school has maintained its close links with the Armed forces as well providing education for children from non service backgrounds.
The school is proud to serve such a rich and diverse community where many adults and children have had experiences of living in other countries as well as various parts of the UK.
We have some impressive facilities including extensive outdoor learning areas, which include an outdoor learning classroom, adventure play facilities, pond and a Wild Wood. We have a Sensory Room and a Community Hub area for our children and families to use. Along with our own school kitchen which provides home cooked, tasty food for lunch and special events.
Our KS2 building includes 8 classrooms, a studio, dining facilities and a food technology room.
Starting at school is an exciting and important stage in a child's development and we work hard to make it a happy and positive experience. Everyone at St Michael's is always encouraged to do their best. Families are welcome to visit the school by making an appointment with the school office on 01206 546412. Mrs Hull and Mrs Harman from our office team are always happy to deal with general queries.
Further information about the school can be found in our prospectus, a copy of which can be accessed by clicking here.
