The Governing Body continues to focus on:
● School improvement
● Developing our SEND provision hubs
● Monitoring budgets to ensure future school sustainability
● Ensuring that our children with special needs and/or disability are well supported
● Focusing on how the pupil premium grant is spent and its impact on the outcomes for these children
● School leadership with particular focus on delegated leadership
One of the roles of the Governing Body is to review and agree school policies and this year we have considered, among others, the following:

● Special Educational Needs
● Health and Safety
● Physical Contact
● Supporting Children with Medical Conditions and Intimate Care
● Educational Visits
● Recruitment

All members of the Governing Body are encouraged to take part in training on a regular basis. As parts of its key role, governors must take part in regular Safeguarding training in order to ensure that it is holding the school to account with regards to its Safeguarding duty.

I have become a Parent Governor to support the school in any way I can. I have a degree in Early Childhood Development and worked as a Primary School Teacher for nearly 10 years. When I had children myself, I set up a childminding business so that I could spend more time with them. I am passionate about children’s learning and development, with a commitment to always enhancing my skills and knowledge, and hope to bring my enthusiasm and experience to this new role. |

I've been a school Governor since November 2018 and it's an honour to be part of the Governing board. I'm currently working for the Surface Transport division of Transport for London as a Compliance Officer. I have a degree in Procurement, Logistics & Supply Chain Management. I also operate a logistic consulting company through Portland Merchant Group Ltd. I hope to bring the skills and experience working for TFL and running my own business to every committee & FGB meetings. |

Having worked at St Michaels for 5 years in the capacity of a class teacher, I hope to bring my understanding of the curriculum, members of staff and children to each governor meeting. St Michael's truly is a wonderful place to work at and to learn in and I hope that being a member of the governing team will allow me to play a larger part in ensuring that the school continues to be as warm, welcoming and friendly for every child and adult as it was when I joined the school. |
